as what have been said already.
yes you can. why not. if you have the time & the money.
just find a jeepney maker, order a jeep, fill up the necessary paper work, have it shipped, then wait for it. but as for your intention to drive it, you might need to modify or you might have to change the whole engine. have fun!

Well , some people are close and others are just so far out there it's not funny . I have asked this same question for 2 years now. I did talk to a guy that had one shipped over here . but the jeepney was a old modle way before epa standards . in order to get one over here and pass epa it will have to be a pre. 1974 modle . or like a couple people kinda hit on just shipp over the body . no motor and have one installed here .
Now for the last thing you can do . Take about a year and keep looking on e-bay . i have seen 4 list and sell there. but it was not cheap . but still cheaped then shipping and buying one.
I got luck and found a vehicle from the Philippines . It a cross of the trics and a jeepney . i found it on e-bay .
If you really want to get your hands on one i can help you out . It would be fun . Just e-mail my hotmail acc. i ues it more then yahoo. it's supernovaoverlord@hotmail.com
Good luck

If people can bring their vehicles from the United States to the Philippines, I don't see any reason why you can't buy a custom made jeepney in the Philippines and then have it shipped to NY. Since this is your private vehicle (you don't intend to use it a passenger thing in NY, do you?), then all the registration papers and other tax/tariff requirements should be like a private vehicle. You might want to make sure it also pass the emission and other safety tests. You definitely need to install seat belts. To really play it safe, inquire with the approving bodies, maybe the DPS and the DMV. Good luck and I hope you have lots of money to burn....LOL

It would probably be a lot cheaper to modify a NY registered jeep chassis into a jeepney. Buy a jeep with a rusty body cheap, then have a new jeepney/jeep body fabricated in the Philippines, shipped over and then fitted to your jeep chassis.

Yes you could. Just purchase it and have it shipped to NY.
It'll probably be very expensive to ship though. And I highly doubt that you be able to get it to pass NYS emissions inspection.
If you have that kind of money, why not just by a Jeep Wrangler or Liberty and modify it?

What a great idea! You will have the only vehicle in NY that nobody would care to steal.

Yes you can import one, but you can't legally drive it on a public road.
