Jose, as a fellow Latino, your open question offends me. I feel that it is doing nothing but pandering to the "Victim Culture". Until we as a race move as far away from that culture as possible we have no hope of achieving true equality.
So some jackass calls you a ****, big deal. Did it really hurt that bad? No. So just keep on doing your own thing, get ahead in life on your own merits, live well and teach your children the right values.
No body owes you anything and you can't expect anyone to solve the problems in the Latino community but Latinos.
Additionally, as a natural born citizen of this country, whose great grand parents came here legally and worked hard to assimilate into the American way of life, culture and society, I feel that we should kick all illegal Latinos out, along with anyone from any other race/country.
Sorry, but those Latinos who come here illegally are part of the problem. First, they are largely responsible for the perception that all Latinos are illegal and don't speak English. Secondly, by definition, illegal immigrants are CRIMINALS!!
Latinos that come here illegally and refuse to learn the language, adopt the culture and espouse the political and societal norms disrespect and degrade the hard work of those Latino families that DID come here legally and ARE hard working, honest Americans.
Those laws that congress is killing to keep illegals illegal are BS and shouldn't be passed.
Those illegals are causing a large portion of the problems with and in our Latino culture.
You stand there and try to speak out against racial injustice and inequality, but do nothing to address the REAL issues in our communities. You'd rather parrot the "Victim Culture's" talking points and be pissed off. Why not start doing something about the real problems. Why not stand up and vow to live a good life, vow to get to a better life through hard work and sacrifice, vow to pass down good and decent values, ethics and morals to your children? Why not stand up against the self fulfilling cycles of doom and despair in our neighborhoods?
Until you do, you'll only continue to be part of the problem.

How do they pay their taxes if they don't have a valid Social Security number?
I don't hate Mexicans or people from any other country simply because they are from a different country. It's called illegal immigration because these people are breaking the law.
Mexico is not a poor country, the laws of Mexico protect the rich at the expense of the poor. Maybe the people of Mexico should try and change their laws.

********. You cannot have a valid social security number if you are not an American citizen or legal immigrant. Without a valid social security number you cannot pay income taxes. If these people are paying income taxes, their employers are keeping that money because the employer is certainly not going to send tax money to the government that is associated with an individual who has a bogus social security number and, that's pure profit to the employer.
If your friends have social security numbers, they are bogus and your friends are guilty of identity theft.
As to us changing our laws, thanks, but we'll change our laws on the advice, consent and request of the American people, not those who are not citizens and so have no say in our laws and how they're written. ALL countries have strict immigration laws including Mexico. Don't believe it? Look them up. You've got a little research to do.

Born here, legal or not, if you knew anything about our immigration problem, you would not have the audacity to say we have to change OUR immigration laws. Until the sell-outs got involved, our immigration level was approximately 175,000 per year. Our present immigration level is over one MILLION LEGAL immigrants per year, and has been so, for quite some time. So much for it not being easy for people to come to this country legally, and stay. (HMMM. Where else in the world lets people come and stay, in those numbers or anything close to them?)
Because of our obligations to the LEGAL IMMIGRANTS WE HAVE INVITED TO STAY, our natural resources and finances are stretched beyond anything we have ever known in this , and especially, ANY OTHER country. For instance, the state of California (which has no water) is OBLIGATED IN PERPETUITY (look the word up--it means FOREVER) to build ONE NEW SCHOOL PER DAY, just to take care of the expected population of new LEGAL aliens' children and grandchildren, etc.,etc.. it is already legally required to provide for.
Further bad news shows that, thanks to our country's citizens' interests and environment being put up for sale by the pols and suits, not only are US citizens and LEGAL aliens now at DEAD-HEAT numbers (almost even in our country): We have to add the number of ILLEGALS who are here, and the repercussions of their presence upon our resources and environment, AND their confused, INVITED relatives and friends, who shout in the street that Uncle Sam is not a good enough host, as they dine at our table.
Don't pull out the old, "they're just doing work you don't want to do" card.
If it weren't for the fact I had seventeen uninvited , hidden guests in my attic, with the assistance of some of their invited-guest relatives, I wouldn't have had to build such a huge sewage system, in the first place.
My heart aches for the immigrant fleeing unfair treatment, but, immigration drains the best of a country, and does nothing to stop the problems countries face. We can't take in everyone in the world, as hard as we have tried to, in the past thirty years, but stop bashing us. It is not hatred that drives us, but the audacity of those who scream to let the thievery continue, the instinct of self-preservation, the right and holy obligation to protect or dwindling resources, which belong to the children who are this country's citizens and natives, to care for, and our own future, to which you and your kind do not seem to think we are entitled .

If you don't like the way our system works then stay home and change your own country. We like ours just the way it is. Illegal is Illegal and WE Elected our Congressional Leaders to represent US Not U. You obviously don't understand nor respect what we have, you just want more for yourself without having to earn it. Our people fought and died to protect what we have. How did you help in WW1? How about WW2? The Cold War against the spread of communism? Ooooh I bet the Soviets were shaking in their boots!
Yet you send gangs across our border and wage your little territorial gang wars in our cities were the "territory" isn't yours to dispute. Clean up your own house!
Learn to provide for the self sufficiency of your own country!
You have resources and claim to be hard working people but you run away from your problems to live off your neighbors.
You claim as rights things we view as privileges. You have it better off here than in your own country and yet you greedily Demand More! Grow up!
People here Illegally, From Any Country, have worn out their welcome.

Most of us are very well informed. Just because you do not understand what we are saying does not mean we are incorrect in our opinions. Yes, it can be difficult to immigrate, as it should be, this insures that only good, honest, law abiding people that want to become US citizens are allowed admittance. Peace

Heck, I could care less, if folks want to work more power to them. We have a lot of U.S. citizens who won't get off their recliners playing video games unless they get paid $$$ to flip burgers.
I do care however that the border is very porous and it is a security concern for EVERYONE in the U.S. no matter how a person got here!

I've lived in areas of America where we are bombarded with illegals my whole life. I think maybe it's YOU who need to inform yourself. Legal immigration is fine, and good for America. Illegal trespassing is NOT.
