i changed my name and i loved the expereince.. my family took a little while to get used to it, but when they saw that my boyfriend and all my friends were comfortable to call me by my new name they are coming round...
a name is jsut a name.. so find one you like and go for it!
tip: dont be all military or agrssive about people calling youby yournew name.. it takes people time.. so start with friends and partner, let them know your decision and then begin introducing yourself by your new name.. so your new friends will know you by this..
i didnt change it by law, i have my new name for 5 years now and still all my official papers are by my birth name..
this isnt about the system its about how you feel.. and anyway changing your name doesnt cost alot of money if you decide to go for it officially... no different than when you get married
goodluck.. its fun .. enjoy it

I don't think I would. Once in school, a teacher gave everyone the chance to be called by a nickname. She asked me what I wanted and I had always though Steve would be cool. So, that was what I said. The next day she stood at the head of the class calling for someone named "Steve", and can you believe it...that idiot never spoke up!
Yeah, I like my name. It isn't much but it is what I have.

Yes I would. My name is old and ugly and very hard to pronounce. I hate it! The only positive thing about my name is the fact that I am the fourth female in my family to have because it was passed down for me through the generations

Whenever I am on the internet, I go by Zenobia and love it. However, I've had my birth name for 36 years; it's now a part of my identity and I wouldn't want to change it.

Nope. It is what it is and I have never really thought about changing it. I am very proud of my family (Father's) name. I still use it in business as it is very different and one people remember if they see it or hear it. I like that. My Hubby's last name is Johnson. Too boring fo me!!!!

No, I like my name. It's classy and simple: Emily
Besides...I've been Emily for too long. I'd be really confused if I had a new name NOW.

My first name is old and horrible. I've never used it, my mother never intended for me to use it. It's Myra. I'd change it to something nicer. Although my name is a nice name. Good luck. 2D
