a have a paper about electromagnetic fields and this 2 words are used many many times but i don't what they mean.can u help me?

Coupling is the effect of one state variable on another. It can be unidirectional or bidirectional ("mutual"). Strong coupling means a significant amount of such an effect. In the context of magnetic fields it could mean any of several kinds of interaction, such as between a field and another field or a current or a force or a motion.
