Aside from the Devil and the angels, I would say that the Vampire would represent darkness and evil. In real terms, evil could be represented by the bat, who sucks blood from animals in the dark and lives in caves hanging upside down. A creature of goodness and innocence could be the unicorn and in real terms, the dolphin. The dolphin likes people, is extremely intelligent, lives in family groups and has even been known to save human lives. The snake (although there are many species) is generally considered the personification of evil because of the biblical story of Adam and Eve.

A creature of evil would be most well represented by a minotaur, or a snake. Good is almost always represented by a dove with an olive sprig, or some other peaceful creature...like an angel.
