Here is your answer:
2(x-3) = x+3
2x-6 = x+3
2x-x = 6+3
x = 9
So the answer is 9. Goodbye!

David, be careful. If you transport -6 to the other part, it will become positive, so +6. Bye!

here are the steps:
2(x-3)=x+3
distribute the 2 to the inside of the parenthesis --> 2x-6=x+3
add the 6 to both sides --> 2x=x+9
subtract x from both sides --> x=9

use the distributive property:

2(x-3)=x+3
2x-6=x+3
move all the x's to one side and the integers to the other--by either adding or subtracting depending on the sign
2x-x=6+3
x=9

2(x-3)=x+3
2x-6=x+3
subtract x from both sides
1x-6=+3
add +6 on both sides
1x=9
divide by 1
x=9

2(x-3)=x+3
2x-6=x+3

Let's get rid of the 6 on the left side of the equal sign by adding a 6 to both sides; have to add the same amount to both sides to keep it equal

2x-6+6=x+3+6
2x=x+9

Now let's get rid of the x from the right side of the equal sign. Again, we have to subtract x from both sides to keep it equal.

2x-x=x-x+9
x=9

ok so you need to use the distributive property

2(x-3)=x+3

1-go left to right so start with the 2(x-3) now you first need to use the distributive property so you take 2 times x which gets you 2x and then you take 2 times negetive three becuase you have to "cross the line change the sign" which tells you the three is actually a neget tive so it is now 2x+-6

2- so now you have 2x+6=x+3 now you have to make it in simplest form so you either subtract 1x or 2x so lets subtract 1x from 2x and you now have x+6=3

3-get rid of the six by subtracting 6 from three now you have x=3-6

4- you now have x=-3

2(x -3) = x +3
2x -6 = x + 3
2x + (-x) = 3 + (-6)
x = -3

ANS: -3
