Most often the receptacle closest to the panel for a given circuit contains the home run. Also the home run for a circuit will most often enter the utility box from top or bottom depends on location of panel and the connecting wire exits the side for the other receptacles.

Turn the breaker off on the receptacle that you are trying to test. If all other receptacles remain on, then it would be a home run or dedicated circuit.

The other way would be to physically trace the wiring out, and I doubt if you could do that without busting out a lot of drywall.

How much time ya got?
With power off take one of the two sets of wires off each receptacle on that ciruit. Isolate the bare wire ends so they cannot touch anything (wire nuts or electrial tape are good for that). Turn on circuit and use one of those yellow plug in circuit checkers to find which one is still live and check to see if wired correctly. If none of them are live use a meter to find the one set of disconnected wires still hot and that'll be the one going back to the panel.
Once you have found the first one put back the second set of wires on that one (with power off) and then you can find the next one using the same method etc.

Remember white should be neutral, black is power and green or bare wire (if present) is ground - DO NOT BET YOUR LIFE ON THE LAST GUY WIRING IT CORRECTLY.
White wires get connected to the silver screw, black wires get connected to the brass screw and the bare or green wire gets connected to the green ground screw.

Make sure they are tight but but be careful not to overtighten - that can stress the cooper and cause it to weaken.

Once you are sure they are connected to the right terminal if the LED's on your yellow circuit checker show a problem you may have a crossed neutral at the panel or it may have a short in the wire and needs to checked out completely for safety.

The home run is connected to the first device on a circuit. There is no easy way to trace that, but it can be done. Look for the device closest to the panel on a given circuit to start. Why does it matter?
