I am confused. Can someone give me a sample feeding schedule for my 5 1/2mth baby? So far when she wakes I give her her bottle, 2nd feeding is 2oz formula mixed with oatmeal and right after, 3oz of formula in her bottle to supplement. The rest of the day I just give her the bottle. Is this wrong? I want to start introducing vegetables, when would I do this, on her third meal of the day? Once I start giving her vegetables and fruits, do i give these one after the other or space them? I dont know why this is not sinking in! Thanks for the help.

ok say your baby wakes at 7am give her the 2 oz formula with 2 oz cereal. then about 9am give her a 6 oz bottle of formula. then about 12pm give her a veggie. remember only introduce 1 veg. every 2 weeks. and a 6 oz bottle of formula for her nap. then about 5 pm give her half a veg. and half a jar of fruit. then at bed time give her a 6 oz bottle of formula.

This is what my sister did with her 2 kids and what my mom does with her youngest who is 13 months now.

I would not say that youre wrong. every baby develops differently. My son will be five months tomorrow and he already eats his solids. I give him his bottle now when he seems to be hungry. I don't follow the sch. anymore because he is a growing baby. Your baby can be given peas, sweet potato/yam, banana, peaches, squash, and carrots. You can also give him/her barley/rice/oatmeal mixed in w/one of these foods along w/a little water, formula or breast milk (for the right consistency). However!! you should only introduce one food at a time Ie: if you give him carrots on Monday wait till thursday to introduce something new to look out for any food allergies. Always space it out for about 3-5 days. after that you know he/she is not allergic so you can give again when ever you want

5 months is good to start introducing new foods. Start with the veggies, one at a time to make sure there is no allergies. Then after a month start with fruits, again one new food at a time.

You should be consulting your Health Visitor about this. she knows your baby and that is what she is there for. You can't mess about with your baby's health
