for answering a question? and what do the points mean?

Just answer questions that are posted. If you get best answer, you get 10 pts. Sometimes u'll get a pt just for visiting. I'm don't know what the pts are far. Maybe just to see how many you can rack up.

Well you don't get anything except the satisfaction of knowing that your answer got two points for just answering and if it gets picked as the BEST you get 10 more points and that is VERY special. Maybe we are just looking to be special!

the point system is designed to make sure people actually take the time to answer questions, if people only asked and never answered then this whole forum would be worthless.
The points don't really mean anything except that the more points you earn the more you can participate.

yahoo answers thinks it is incentive for people to answer questions, you also lose 5 points when you ask a question, you earn one point everyday just for logging onto yahoo answers, you get 2 points for answering a question and you get 10 points for getting chosen as best answer, and i guess it is fun to see how many points you can save up:)!

you get points when you answer as an incentive to answer more questions. This site is all about users helping users. and the more points you have the higher your ranking goes which then allows you to do more things

You get points so that you can do more things, such as posting more questions, rating more answers, plus you can brag to your friends about the number of points that you have.

They by ur info on your yahoo account and periodically they mail you certain stuff like tote bags little gifts for having lots of points. Hope this helps!

the points level you and allow you to ask questions with every level u can answer more questions a day and ask more etc

well enough points get you to level 2. that's when you can vote against all the retarded answers and choose all the good ones.
