if bellichick has anything to do with it, mangini will be washing cars or busing tables next season.

He will not be fired. I am 100% sure of this.
However, he will have to turn things around---if next year is as bad or worse than this year, he's as good as gone.
The problem is more with the players than the coach.
The QB can't throw deep effectively or with any regularity.
The O Line can't block for 4 quarters to run.
The D Line can't put any pressure on a QB
Vilma, the most talented guy there, is wasted in the system they use.
The only good part of the team is the secondary and special teams.
They need to put Clemens in to get him experience and draft defense...maybe even switch to a 4-3. And why doesn't anyone talk about the Def. Coordinator---who is this guy? He's got no successful experience as a coordinator and is not aggressive at all.
The problem with the team, since Parcells left, is that they have no identity. There doesn't seem to be an onfield approach that they use every game---they play to the level of who they are playing and let that team dictate the game.
Examples:
-Eagles play close games, lots of field goals, good defense.
(Jets had 3 field goals and defense played well in a close game)
- Bengals play shootouts, sloppy.
(Jets score 31 points, give up 38, have a ton of mistakes and penalties)
There's no team concept...which is Mangini's fault I guess. It's hard when the talent isn't there.
I think they need to be more aggressive in free agency and draft a pass rusher.

Not only will Mangini's NFL coaching career be over, so will Brad Childress'...
Mangini: Spygate
Childress: Garrett Mills, Childress and the Vikings claimed off Mills waivers from the Patriots, despite Belichick imploreing him not to do so..
You cross The Teflon Don of the NFL (Bill belichick), don't be surprised if you wake up with a horse head in your bed, or if you end up sleeping with the fishes...

Last year he made great strides with that team. Improvements in all facets.
Mangini, Linehan and Sean Payton to a lesser degree all seem to be suffering something of a sophomore jinx.
I think the Jets will make a switch at QB, continue to bolster the defense and try to rebuild quickly over the next two seasons.
I don't think you can pin all their woes on him. He'll get at least one more year.

No he is having a sophmore slump and has only had 2 drafts to bring talent in. You can only hide a teams flaws for so long and now it is showing.
