It's a myth...just like they attribute more "crazy" behavior to full moons. If you check with labor and delivery they will probably have peaks and valleys in their business...if it happened to fall by a full moon that month then that was the excuse. I've never had a baby on or around a full moon. My sister gave birth 3 days after a major blizzard...but nothing during it.

If you were 2cm dilated almost a week ago I would say you have a good chance to go anyways...full moon or not. To speed things along you can do a few things...

Have sex...both should have an orgasm (his has a hormone in it to start labor) and your uterine contractions can initiate labor.

WALK...A LOT...truly.

You can also stimulate your nipples (if you have a breast pump you can use that a little bit) or have your SO do it. That can cause uterine contractions.

Good luck and happy birthing!!

I agree with the theory . I gave birth 3 days after a full moon.

The nurse a the hospital said it is the busies time in the delivery rooms. They even have extra staff when they know a full moon is coming!

So good luck on Friday!!

Hi, We're due October 31st for our little guy, and I noticed last night that the moon was almost full. I'm ready for him to be born any time now, so hopefully the weather will give both our families a little push. Best of luck with the birth of your son.

I did slightly prognosis in this no longer too some time past and foudn a similar component you probably did. Nothign as to scientific evidence. yet, many OB/L&D nurses insist that for some reason it does seem to hodl genuine. i got here across memories from numerous that say the wards DO certainly get fuller at teh finished moon. comparable holds genuine for hurricane babies~~~questioning i might desire to have a style of later this summer lol in certainty i became in for monitoring some issues on the final finished moon adn the nurses have been runngin liek loopy simply by fact tehy have been thoroughly finished!!! I had to be monitored in a usual room simply by fact there have been none empty.

It wasn't that way with me. I gave birth to all four of mine on a quarter moon. Actually, what affected me the most was a change in the weather, like a falling barometer.
