I know it should be legal, but is there a way to get it legalized, either by state or the federal government?

Holy hell people, when I ran spell check it took the messed up way I spelled shouldn't and turned it into should; I didnt notice.

Now back to my question, How could bullfighting become legal, would it be on the federal or state level, and what would it take to make it happen?

Yeah, if the people were able to get it on the ballot they could get it legalized, however I don't think you'd get much support from your fellow citizens... its generally thought of as cruelty to animals.I'm inclined to agree.

Personally, I was thinking that they ought to bring back the lions, but instead of Christians, we can throw them people like you!!! I echo what everyone else here has said...why?????? Why would you want to see some big magnificent animal stabbed and tortured to death? I think bullfighting would only be fair if the bull"fighter" didnt have anything to stab it with and had to rely on his agility and wits to survive, lol now THATS a bullfight!

What a ridiculous comment-- why "should" it be legal? The world has evolved since torturing animals was considered entertainment. The only reason it remains in some places is out of tradition. It never world arise now where it never existed. Why would you want to step back to a more primitive state? Aren't smart enough to embrace a more enlightened endeavor?

*******EDIT********

And my comment is NOT born out of animal "rights" which I don't believe exist. I simply believe we are Neanderthals if we don't practice good stewardship over life on this planet.

Why do you think it should be legal? Seems kind of antiquated and Romanesque to me. Instead of throwing Christians to lions, they just put people in rings to kill bulls in a fancy way with lots of pomp and circumstance. It will never become legal here in the US, marijuana will probably be legal before bullfighting ever will.

Twenty years ago dog and rooster fighting were legal in several states. Now only Louisiana still allows kock fighting. I would say the trend is going the other way, but you never know. Civil Rights are being pushed back as we speak.

Actually, it is legal in Texas, but they can't kill the bull or use picas (the things put into the shoulders).
Good luck getting it legalized to the extent of the cruelty in Spain or Mexico. We have laws here against cruelty to animals.

No way. The animal rights people have a fit about rodeos, can you imagine what they'd do if anyone tried to legalize bull fighting?

You know it should be legal?

If chicken fights and dog fights and animal cruelty are all illegal and you can go to jail for all of these things, you really think that people will go for bull fighting?

Good luck.

Also, the answer is no.

God created animals to keep us happy, not for us to torture them.
RESPECT what god gave you!
