I was recently told that I ask stupid questions, so I wanted to ask an intelligent one.

I like your other questions better...
being gay is not a choice, accepting that you are gay is.
That's how I look at it.
***
I was just confused... I assumed you were gay... but... I didn't want you to think some how I was being nosey... I didn't know I asked if you were. *does this sound rude? I certainly don't mean it to*

As you Q & As are private I cant tell whether your other questions are stupid, but to be really honest, this question is both stupid and boring, it gets asked at least once every day in one form or another.
So here goes, I made a choice about being beaten up at school, told I was a pervert by certain teachers, sacked from a job when I was seventeen because they thought a 'queer' was not good for their company image, told by countless religionists that I would go to hell, to be spat at in the street by people that don't know me, and much worse.
All that and more in what is claimed to be the most 'tolerant' & diverse city in the world, London
No, honey I don't think so, I was born this way & I would not change it for any amount of money or favour.

I don't think that it is a choice. I am one of the people that think that you are born that way. I have known a lot of gay people and they all seem to think that. Some of them have said that they always knew and others say that they found out later. (usually 12,13 around that age.)Three of them were family members and the rest were coworkers.(I use to live in Atlanta) Why would anyone choose to be ostracized by society and disowned by their families? People have been beaten to death for being gay. Who would choose that?

Not to me. I grew up very close with a male cousin. I remember when he used to come out the bath, he'd put the towel like girls do. I was around 3 and him 2 when I starting noticing. So no one can tell me he made a conscious choice when he was that young.

If being gay is a choice, then breathing and skin color is a choice. Go back to the other questions. Ignore the other guy.

I don't think it's a choice. I've never thought it was a choice -- and I'm straight. Years ago I used to get a lot of flak from my straight friends for thinking that way, but I think that even us "old farts" (I'm 55), know better now.

No...it's not. Sexual orinetation is no more a choice than skin color is. I believe that it is part of a person's make up. The ONLY choice that is made is to act on the attraction that someone has to another person. And heterosexuals do that all the time too.

I don't think it is, because as a heterosexual, I never decided to like boys... it just happened that way.
I don't think I would ever choose to be part of a group that was not openly accepted.

It's a choice whether or not you act on it the same way it's a choice whether you're heterosexual and you act on it.
Other than that, it's your birth right.
