Do you have a Sports Authority near you? They have a yearly pre-season clearance called "Sniagrab" (bargains spelled backwards) - they have really good prices and an amazing slection - Ride, Burton, K2, Rossi, Morrow, etc.

Look for pre-season clearances on the web also - I know that www.mountaingear.com has deals.

Good Luck

at the end of every winter there are really good sales at pretty much every snowboard shop and online retailer. This is the best time of year to buy.

if you are looking for REALLY cheap then go second hand. Make sure you know what size and type of board your looking for. Make sure there is no edge damage or no core shots (big gouges in the base that go right through the p tex).

also look at the base to try and see if there is water damage. Its not always easy to see but look for discoloration or cracks where water might have seeped in.

find out how many seasons old the board is and approximately how many days it has been ridden. Sometimes you can get a great bargain where a board is 3-4 years old but has only had 10 days on the mountain. watch out cos it goes the other way too!!

hope this helps, good luck!!

Well, this might be lame, but I've seen some really cheap boards on the site that is usually advertised next to questions in this category - www.boardsforless.com.

You also might want to take a look at ebay. If you're patient you can get some really good deals there. I got a brand new 2007-2008 board for less than 50% of its list price just a few weeks ago there. The thing with both ebay and that boardsforless site - you really need to read the descriptions carefully; make sure the board is in good condition, or that you know what blemishes it will come with.

Happy shopping!
