ensured they had munitions, food, radios etc.
in the invasion (normandy), so much ground work done by the resisitance prior to landings (cutting telephone lines etc), that it really helped the allies, if the resistance wasnt in place, it would have been a lot tougher

The first two answers are correct. There are some other answers that are only anti-American remarks. The question was related to the Resistance. Not about Lend-Lease nor about the dealings that a neutral, until then, country had with others that happened to be at war. Both the US and Britain trained and supplied the Resistance in occupied Europe, each in accordance with their possibilities, and fought alongside in many instances.

Until Hitler declared war on the USA in December 1941 the USA was trading with both sides.
In 1940 Standard Oil Of America gave the Nazis the process for making synthetic rubber, a vital war material as most supplies of natural rubber were closed to them by the British navy.
THis probably prolonged the war by several months.
After 1941 the USA supplied vast amounts of war material to Britain and the Soviet Union and this certainly helped in the defeat of the Nazis because US factories were the only ones beyond the range of German bombers
It took until 2006 for Britain to pay off this debt.

It is a very complicated question with a lot of answers.....but basically, the mainland United States was never bombed or invaded and became the major manufacturer of munitions, and armour, vehicles, planes which were exported to all the allies and helped in the defeat of the Nazis.....but there is a lot more to it than that basic answer.

Guns, ammunition, explosives, food, medical support, the list goes on. We provided it all; it is hard for unarmed and unequipped people to fight with their bare hands. We filled the hands with the proper tools.

They fed our people with food, they fed our industry with supplies and they fed our morale with avoiding the sort of starvation suffered in Russian cities. They also constructed our military power so that we could play a full part in the conquest of Europe.
