And why are Kurdish freedom fighters "terrorists?"

Would this label change if their ambitions came to fruition? Would these "terrorists" then become forever known as "founding fathers?"

Common sense please, it isn't fair to tar all Kurds with the same brush and suggest an al-Qaeda link. The question is why shouldn't they be a sovereign state? They are the biggest nation without a state so why can't they have one, and part from Turkey, Iraq, Syria and Iran on friendly terms?

Now which country is gonna give up territory to them? If a similar situation exists where you live, would you support a partition of your country?

The Kurds live in an area that is part of three or four other sovereign nations . If they really start a Civil war of independence from any one nation , the others will hop into the fight . The Kurds would end up fighting much stronger enemies from all directions , at the same time .

OK lets have some common sense. Turkey has been fighting a war with the terrorist PKK Kurdish separatists for over 30 years. Tens of thousands of people have been killed. You show me which other countries have given in to such barbaric people. What about Spain and the Basque separatists? I think you need to learn a bit more about the problems Turkey has with the Kurdish terrorists before you make such judgements.
We should all be against anyone who resorts to terrorism

Using religion to create boundary lines has not worked so well in the past. My prime examples are Ireland, Yugoslavia, and Somalia. The minorities always get persecuted and the lines never satisfy anyone. Conflict is only postponed not resolved.
The PKK are terrorists and do not represent the Kurdish people any more than the IRA represented all Catholics.
Unfortunately, it is easier to fight over the status quo then join together and improve everybody's lives.
Those of us who live in countries where peoples of all races, creeds, and national origins generally coexist peacefully can be amazed how parts of the world are so inclined towards self-destruction.

Errr...... 1 or 2 words. Al-Quaeda.
The place would harbour terrorists from all over the world, and they would attack all the western countries including the USA and UK. These people are bad enough as it is, without having political power.
Why don't you just give Bin Laden a country?!
