I'm not sure luck has much to do with. As a college student I also lived penny to penny but the experience helped me later on in life. Now that I have a great job because of college, I also have a good sense for managing money and so I get by just fine.

Think of it as a tough learning experience that will eventually pay off..pun intended.

By the way, if you are surrounded by other students that come from wealthy families and don't seem to be struggling....for the most part their "luck" will run out.

Luck has nothing to do with it. It is all about choices. If you get past the penny-to-penny stage it is only because you live a lifestyle below your income, save some money and don't get into credit card debt, have car payments, etc. Or, it is because you work harder and make more money (even if it means a second job). Almost everyone starts off in your situation but you don't have to stay that way forever. Get your education, get a good job and make wise choices and you won't be paycheck-to-paycheck for long.

It aint easy being a worker either, pet.

I got my pay slip today, we got a rise this month ... an extra 10p per hour ... 70p extra a shift.

We got our payslips today as it's pay day tomorrow and as I said to the girls, I like to see what I've worked for before they start to take it off me.

Just less than £1,000 for 205 hours at work.

neither paycheck to paycheck, and not lucky either. In between. What you are doing now, you will get your rewards later.

Paycheck to paycheck! (Although I did go to NY twice this year to see my boyfriend...). So I guess I am smart with money too.

I don't consider myself as being lucky, I have worked for what I have, so that I can live modestly, and work when I feel like it.

Right now, I'm lucky since I live with my parents.
