I gained 80 pounds! Because I was on bed rest most of it, so sick, and got pre-eclampsia at the end. I was afraid too that I'd never lose it. My son is 14 months now and I've lost 95 pounds SO easy. Breastfeeding, and I've always eaten healthy but even more so now. I've cut out partially-hydrogenateds almost completely (it's in everything so you have to cook more), that's the worst, and cut out corn syrup (also in everything) as much as possible. Surprise, it's better to eat real sugar and real butter because your body at least knows what it is. And cook with Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
It's also great to get a head start on eating this way, so your kids will be healthy and not fall into the childhood obesity and diabetes epidemic.
Also stay active - dance with your baby! They love it and you get exercise.

I gained almost 60 lbs during my pregnancy and my son was born 8 lbs 12 ounces... so I had a lot to lose.
I breastfed my son, and that helped me lose all my baby weight! I lost all my baby weight plus some by 4 months... once I stopped nursing, some of the weight came back on a little bit (10 lbs) so I'm still working on that... but I was shocked at how quickly breastfeeding can help you lose the weight. Babies needs lots of fat so they take it from your body, and also, you burn calories while you're nursing, so its great! Mother nature really knows what she is doing!
Also, I really disagree with doctors that make us feel guilty when we gain more than 25 lbs. As long as you're eating healthy and that baby is born healthy, thats all that matters!

Hi there. Everyone is different. I gained 36 lbs and delivered at 36 weeks. About 10-12 of it was actual body weight (your blood volume doubles or more, you have other additional fluids, you've got baby weight, etc.).
Without dieting, just going back to my normal exercise routine (jogging 1-2 miles a day and walking with the baby) I returned to my pre-baby weight within about 6-8 weeks. It took about 9-10 weeks for the abdominal swelling to subside, even though I had lost the weight.

I nearly doubled my weight first time round. I went from 8 stone to just under 14 st. I was devastated. It began to drop off, but I fell pregnant with my second child just 3 months later. I didn't gain quite as much with her, and 18 months after she was born, I was back down to 8 1/2 stone, with a little help from Slimming World.
I fell pregnant with my son three years later, and gained 3 1/2 stone with him. Fortunately, the weight shifted a bit more quickly, and I was back to normal a couple of months later.
Though, I'm sure my metabolism has changed.... I'm much more prone to weight gain now. Nothing beats a good pair of Bridget Jones knickers!
Good luck!

It's different with everyone. I gained 35 pounds with my son and it took me about eight/nine months to get back into my pre-pregnancy jeans. I lost a lot of weight within the first month or so and was in the next size up for awhile. Don't let the weight freak you out, you'll have a beautiful baby to take care of!

Not my baby weight, but just weight loss in general, my adivce:
The way not to do it is starve yourself, to start with. Just exercise and eat right. I did....lost 90 LBS because of it. Starving yourself won't help at all. Drink more water, eat less before bed, and don't eat for stress are the 3 things I follow and i'm going pretty well if i don't say myself. 90 LBS isn't anything like 5-10lbs so take my advice. If you want anymore details, feel free to email me. Just please be patient for ppl seem to email me for advice on this, I will reply, don't worry! ~Adia

The secret is breastfeed.....you will lose the weight fast...in fact after i had my daughter i was smaller then before i got pregnant with her. But dont stress about it too much after you immediately give birth because at that point you should only be worried about resting and the baby !! Good Luck

my daughter is 3 months old and I still have about 10 lbs to go. I have read that your body will hang on to baby fat until at least 6 months post-partum.
Don't stress over it now! Enjoy the latter half of your pregnancy. Exercise daily and eat sensibly.

I gained 20 pounds, it was all gone within 2 weeks of giving birth - baby was only 6lbs 10oz, and I didn't diet. Breastfeeding baby will help you to lose it, that's what I think helped me anyway - but there's no rush, just enjoy your baby. Congratulations!
