5x+7=24-6x
step 1. rearrange the equation so that coefficients are on one side/ automatically the sign changes as u cross the = sign. -becomes + and the other way round.
5x+6x=24-7
then solve the equation
11x=17 then divide both sides by 11 to find the value of x
x=1.54

5x+6x=24-7 now just solve it
11x=17
x=11/17 so about 0.65
second one is like same move X to one side numbers to other
x+2x=29-3/2 3/2 is the same as 1.5
3x=27.5

Whatever you do on one side of the equal sign, you have to do on the other.
5x+7=24-6x
You want "x" stuff on one side and everything else on the other.
To get the x stuff on one side, add 6x to both sides/
5x+7 +6x=24-6x +6x/
Will you concede that -6x +6x = 0? And that 25+0 = 24?
So you have
5x+7 +6x=24
Would you agree that 5x+6x = 11x? Ok so now you have
11x + 7 = 24
You sill have sons non x stuff on the left so add -7 to both sides.
11x + 7 -7= 24-7
Now, if you'll concede that -7+7=0, and that 11x+0 = 11x, and that 24-7=17, you now have
11x = 17
You still have factor of 11 on the left...
But, if you multiply both sides by 1/11
11x/11 = 17/11
Now, if you'll concede that 11x/11=(11/11)x and that 11/11 = 1 and that 1x = x, you have
x = 17/11
The other one's done the same way... in fact you'll find yourself using these steps a lot.

To get like terms together
subtract 5x from both sides to get 7=24-6x-5x
subtract 24 from both sides to get 7-24=6x-5x
now combine like terms to get -17=1x
Now divide both sides to get
-17/1=1/1x which gives you...
-17=x or x= -17
The second one can be done the same way, just treat the x as a 1x to help you remember it's there. To make a number a fraction just put it over 1! Good Luck! =)

The first one:
1) 5x + 7 = 24 - 6x
2) Subtract 5x from both sides of the equation.
7 = 24 - 11x
3) Subtract 24 from both sides of the equation.
-17 = -11x
4) Divide both sides by -11.
-17 / -11 = x
5) A negative number divided by a negative number is a positive number.
17/11 = x -OR- x= 17/11

The second one:
1) x + 3 / 2 = 29 - 2x
2) Subtract 'x' from both sides of the equation.
3 / 2 = 29 - 3x
-OR-
1.5 = 29 - 3x
3) Subtract 29 from both sides of the equation.
-27.5 = -3x
4) Divide both sides by -3.
27.5 / 3 = x
-OR-
x = 27.5 / 3

For the first one, add 6x to both sides, leaving 11x+7=24, then subtract 7 from both sides, leaving 11x = 17, then divide both sides by 11, leaving x = 11/17.
For the second one, add 2x to both sides, leaving 3x+3/2 = 29, then multiply both sides by 2, leaving 6x+3=58, then subtract 3 from both sides, leaving 6x=55, then divide both sides by 6, leaving x = 9.16666667.
