It means fair-weather fan. If the team is doing well they are behind them. If the team dies down, so does their support.

Someone who claims to be a fan of lets say for example the Rockies & then as soon as they are losing they will change to the Red Sox. Another example is someone who only gets on the bandwagon during playoff season & always roots for the winner of the series & then claims they been a fan of that winning team for years. Where was the Met fan for all those years they sucked before Minaya took over & turned the team around. Many of those so-called Met fans showed what phonies they where when they didn't show up during the last week of the season when the Met team needed their support the most.

to me, a bandwagon fan is a person who supports a team only when they succeed. Im a Chicago sports fan and even with the way the teams have been losing, i still cheer for them, win or lose. As for the "not being in the state" thing, Im also a Red Sox fan....i get made fun of for wearing my hat =(. a person can be a die hard fan of a team even when they're not from the state.

Bandwagon is just what it sounds like. Anyone who jumps from team to team based on success of that team is a BF. Unfortunately, these tend to be the people that can afford playoff and WS tickets so they will be seen at the big games. If asked during the regular season they probably couldn't even tell you where the stadium was. It's easy to figure out, just ask them to name some players not named Manny, Big Poppie or A-Rod.

I've been a Mets fan since my interest in the MLB started at age 11.

an identical reason human beings be attentive to the Patriot followers are bandwagon followers. there have been very few Patriot followers whilst they sucked. without warning they began prevailing and here comes the Patriot united states. Be truthful however, the only group Boston cares approximately is the Sox. anybody else performs 2d mess around. yet I agree. distinctive Laker followers are bandwagoners too, however they have been for longer, whilst the Celtic one has purely began. yet it somewhat is purely a demonstration that your group is doing properly. Take it as a badge of honor which you have the bandwagon followers. in case you're a genuine fan, it somewhat is the only way you are able to take it. till you at the instant are not and you is purely no longer around to assist them whilst they're dropping. then you definitely're part of the priority.

A great example is here in northeast Ohio. I enjoy watching baseball and attended numerous games at Jacobs Field this season with half or more of the seats pretending to be occupied by fans.

Then in the few weeks of the regular season...wow, so many "hard-core and/or Cleveland" baseball fans are selling the place out. And playoffs? Forget it....the corporate beautiful people are out in full force, talking into cell phones and waving at the TV cameras like kindergartners who see mom & pop while parading the neighborhood in a Halloween costume show.

Northeast Ohio is full of them, but their baseball gear is already put away until next September...that is, if the club is making another playoff push.

A bandwagon fan is one that follows winners........like someone all of a sudden wearing a Red Sox jersey just because they're in the world series.......but before then, you never heard of them mention the Sox.
