I was driving to my cottage about an hour away and when i got there, as i was going up a hill, a weird machine-gun like sound started from the front left of my car. Being very weird, i stopped the car. When I immideatly tried to restart the engine, the sound came up so i stopped. 10 minutes later it was back to normal, and i continued climbing the hill, and once all the way up, it restarted. So i did the same procedure and i got the same result.

The car is parked at my cottage ever since, what can it be?

Is there oil in the crankcase? Remove both front wheels and check the CV joints for looseness or torn rubber boots. Is the fluid level OK in the automatic transmission?

Continue driving until you break down. Bring your cellular telephone to call for help. Make sure to maintain your car according to your manufacturer's maintenance schedule.
