The U.S. efforts to stabilize Cuba goes as far back to John F. Kennedy's presidency. Fidel Castro will not seize his power and will NOT let the U.S. establish a democracy in Cuba. It is said that Castro is dying, but the U.S hope for control will be put on hold because after Castro dies, his brother will most likely take over.
The U.S. is obsessed with trying to control Cuba because we tried for years to end the regime of Castro yet despite all our efforts, Castro still remains in power.

Bush should just be quiet and try to deal with addressing the messes he has already made.

He also thinks this kind of diversionary tactic will win back some of the Hispanic voters that the Republicans have lost due to the ethnic hatred displayed by Republican supporters in the debate over immigration reform.

Controlling Cuba? That's a good one. If the US wanted to control Cuba, we would have opened up trade relations and flooded them with capitalism like we did Eastern Europe.

Because if we don't Hugo Chavez will.

Castro trained the Venezuela leader. (PBS has a documentary about Cuba that includes him). Chavez already sends up gang members across Mexico into the US. MS-13. Cuba is way too close to our shores.
IN many opinions Chavez is in the top leaders list to beware of. Next to Russia, China & Iran & others...

he has little more than one year to complete the neocon agenda

1. bankrupt the Federal government so social security and medicare will have to be repealed

2. destroy castro once an for all

3. start Armegeddon

Iraq and Afganistan weren't enough to bring the Lord back so now we will start bombing Iran while putting unneeded missles in former Soviet bases to push the Russians and Iranians into an alliance in the hopes it brings about Armegeddon

Because, in the early 60s, the Soviet Union placed nuclear-armed ballistic missles in Cuba. To be fair, this is not a 'Bush fire,' it's been smouldering since JFK.

Well, my opinion on that is...the questions on YA should get a little more asinine. Oops, they already have.

The US has not intention of controlling Cuba. Had that been the goal JFK would have done it a long time ago.
I don't know if your "pun" about fires was intended, but very poor.
