It's not just seal clubbing I am against, but in this day and age given the synthetic fibers available for winter clothes there is no need to use animal fur for any purpose. Its despicable!

Not much those to that question:

Are you against hunting? To those that object to the propaganda films on clubbing -- have they ever seen a film on how meat/pork/chickens get to those cleans plastic wrap packages?

The harp seal harvest --- supports a fair number of Canadians. They would not have jobs if they could not harvest this "crop". There was an overpopulation of harp seals that disrupted fishing.

Would you permit the culling of harp seals or the starving of very poor people in Canada? Choose one?

Are you against the culling of deer or would you rather hit them with your car?

What type of coat do you wear? Fur (if properly cared for) will last 10/15 years --- Fur has very good thermal properties -Fur is a renewable resource --- can you say that about your oil based synethecis coats and clothes?

To the environmentist --- if everyone worn a good fur coat for its entire useful life --- would that not be more environemental than the current bulk of coats/clothing toss away by the whim of fashion?

Put the question in context of its economic and environmental alternatives.

This is a school survey? What kind of question is this?
It's pretty shallow.

I'm against seal clubbing and understand what it's about.

The way this question is phrased is biased so I wouldn't count the answers you get as real. (I don't know anything about you. I apologize for sounding harsh because I understand that you might be young and don't know. But still it's good for you to know. As long as you are living, you have more to learn. You'll never have all of the answers.)

If we could strap them to the backs of select people I wouldn't mind clubbing a few seals. I need an incentive though, like I am starving to death and need the money I will get from the seals to feed my family, or it is strapped to the back of Hilary Clinton. Seriously it is not a matter of opinion, it is a matter of commerce. I am sure you wouldn't want tons of radioactive waste buried in your back yard, but if somebody said you couldn't have electricity anymore you may be very upset. If you live near a hydro electric plant and somebody asks if you would care if they outlawed Nuclear power plants you might be willing to give them up. But if your electricity came from a nuclear power plant then you might object. There are many BAD things that are the outcome of you using consumer product, you still use the products. Some of them are causing birth defects in humans and using child labor to produce.. etc.. things a lot worse than clubbing a seal, but you and I still use these things. If I fed my family by somebody clubbing seals then i may say that I am for clubbing seals, as it stands I don't feed my family from that practice so I would have to say I am not a fan of it but I do chop the heads off of chickens and ducks so that I can feed my family hormone and antibiotic free meat.

Totally AGAINST seal clubbing!!!!!
in my opinion the only people who should be able to do this are the inuit, since they do it in a respectible way, and also are using them to survive and arent doing Mass Slaughterings of seals for money making!!!
