No, the phone book also has your full name and address. There are millions of people who have access to your information. In a word, yes they can use it to perform some fraudulent acts. But, not anything serious if they don't have access to your passwords, credit card info etc.

Hey, if you're worried about identity theft, I think that ZoneAlarm ForceField might be a good program for you to try. i'm working with the company to find users that might benefit from it. Zone Alarm is a very reputable internet security company and our new browser-based program, ForceField, asks as a barrier between you and the internet, so keyloggers, spyware, phishing, etc. can't get through to your computer. If you'd like to learn more or even try our free beta demo, it would be the perfect solution to your concerns.
Good luck to you!

Your full name and address is probably in the phone book just like the rest of the country. They need more information than that such as your social security number.

Yes they can. Buy yourself a shredder and shred anything that has your name, address, phone number, credit card applications, credit card bills after you have paid them. Take your DL # and SS # off of your checks if you have a checking account. Never take your SS card in yur purse, put it in a saftey deposit box.
You just don't realize how easy it is for someone to steal your identity. I have a friend who's identity was stolen and he was arrested for crimes he didn't commit. Thankfully he has that all worked out now.

It's possible, they can do on-line searches and possibly get your social security number and you birthday. Google is one way to do it, they can get past employers, and addresses. Unfortunately, it's all in public records.

Yes, cancel all your cards, inform them and your banks what happen. Most banks ask for photo id now but make sure they know someone could be using your id.

Yes. I would advice you to go to your local credit bureau and ask them to put a security screen on your credit report. Just tell them what you are aware of.... Good luck.

No. Just be sure that you protect your drivers licence and your social security number--shred documents that may have personal information on them.
Be safe!

Doubt so. Cause they have to gather more information on you before they can do so. But the possibility of it still exists. Hopefully, it won't happen.
