Just curious what you guys think since they said that arson started them. They haven't released any information about the guy they shot yesterday.

I at this point don't think that it was either an American terrorist or international terrorist. But it could have been someone doing something stupid that sets off the fire. For instance there is a growing trend of kids blowing up propane tanks and in the dry conditions or drought weather this can readily start a major fire (is currently a concern here in MD with kids doing that lately).

I would say that I would be surprised if it was a terrorist attack. Not really their style. Terrorists acts need major propaganda that cause BOTH death and destruction as it brings them the attention they want and the satisfaction of revenge or punishment of the people. It also causes the desired fear and panic they want. Just destruction doesn't settle their desire for revenge the same way death does. Starting a fire is also not guaranteed to work to cause the destruction you want. Sometimes they are big ... sometimes they are not.

If I had to guess this was an unintended result of a stupid arson act. Kinda like burning a house or tree to burn a house or tree and instead it burns the entire neighborhood or forest down.

What is this about a person getting shot? I didn't hear about that.

While possible arson, seriously doubt terrorism. In order for terrorism to be suspect, it would have to impact major industry or even a major sector of working population or a population sector that has impact on our economy (Houston oil storage and transport facilities or the areas where these workers live, for instance).
This is bad for the few everyday people affected, slightly inconvenient for the bulk of over the top, super rich affected, hardly world impacting, though.

It was definitely arson suspected, that started the brush fire in Southern California, but we never know for sure or not that it's connected to some terrorist group.

No, it's either one of those freak accidents by lightening or some idiot didn't put his camp fire out all the way. This happens every year in one place or another. When they don't clear out to over growth it tends to be a fire hazard and it goes up rather quickly.

Everything that happens is a terrorist attack, the liberals or Canada. I watch it on Fox.

No. If I was going to throw out a conspiracy theory, I'd say it was the mortgage industry trying to correct its own errors, which led to the downward slump in the housing market. Burn a bunch of houses, you create new demand for mortgages. I'm not serious, of course, but it makes a good conspiracy theory.

Could be! why not bomb the beach front and see what runs out. Strafe them if they look like Commies or Taliban. That Jennifer Ariston looks pretty suspicious to me.

No. Either dry conditions sparked it or another jerk deliberately setting fires for kicks.

I wouldn't be surprised if the GOP spins it that way. "Keep them scared & afraid!"
