I know there have been many other female presidents around the world, but never in the US, where women have difficulty getting top positions in companies & corporations not owned by them. The presidency of the US would certainly qualify as the largest "glass ceiling".

I agree, that ceiling has already been broken by utilising many different international places in the international, like the united kingdom (Thatcher), Germany (Merkel), India (Gandhi) besides as others with much less international effect like New Zealand, eire and Iceland, to call some. it may be the 1st time a girl had held the main effectual political place in the international however the precendents are there. i think of Madelyn Albright and Condoleeza Rice are greater suited examples of girls human beings increasing to favourite, pre-eminent political positions in American politics than Clinton's election, have been she to be elected.

The only glass ceilings in politics today are the ones that exist in the individual minds of the candidates.

A woman, a black person, really anybody can become president if they work hard enough at it.

I don't know about the whole glass ceiling load. From what I have read up on the subject of women not doing as well, there have been studies done that show women don't take as many job risks or work as hard as men in their Jobs, which is why they don't get as far. Whether or not it's true neither me or you know. But just from what I read it is. My mother tries very hard at her job, and takes those risks and takes that extra time, and she has climbed up the company ladder Very fast, and beaten men and women alike that have been their for 10 years in the same position, and she did it in 3 and now she manages them. I think the glass ceiling might be fake. But I don't know.

No, shes as big of a douche bag as George Bush.

The only ceiling broken would be that Americans would be STUPID enough to let two families run the country for 20 years.

Two families who talk about opposing each other, but in action do nothing but help each other.

No! She will be 'breaking the United States of America'! She will be the first women president who has 'to train on the job'. She will be the first president of the United States who will ruin our growing economy. Who will take our wonderful Health Care System and throw it in the ditch and turn our healthcare into one like Cuba's! and Canada! She will be the first president of the United States that takes your money right out of your pocket and sends it overseas to kill babies, and continue to fund the murder of babies in the United States. God help America if this woman gets elected!!! It's time to stop thinking Republican or Democrate - look at the facts!!!!! Her decisions affect you 'big-time'! Forget the 'glass ceiling' if the ceiling in going to fall on your head - what does it matter if she's sitting in the Presidents chair?

She will be breaking the biggest glass ceiling in our (American) world, that's for sure. Although a minority President would also be breaking that ceiling.

Hillary Clinton will be the greatest president in the History of America. Some of you posters just need to Stop Hating. Please. Hate makes you old.

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
