I thought it was Sandy Burglar? It's actually a very good story, on how the national archives employees were tagging documents, and suspicious of him while he was stealing. Of course, they didn't get to make all copies of what he stole, so who knows what's missing. I think he destroyed some very valuable information.

Murdoch supports Clinton for some reason, so he would probably let it slide. Good thing the old media is being replaced by the new media (the internet). Within a generation, TV and print will be seen as archaic.

EDIT: Ok Bert-T, he may have been "acquitted" but so was OJ. He lost his law license for SOME reason. And everything I wrote is from memory, and I'm pretty sure it's correct. let me look up sources for you, I'm sure you will really care then. You must have real faith in our justice system investigating one of it's own.

The media loves her, no way they are going to press anything that makes her look bad. If a Republican had done something like this, he would be sitting in a Federal Pen at this very moment. Berger not only STOLE classified documents, he dumped them under a construction trailer outside the National Archives in College Park, MD for anyone to find.

I bet he gets a Top Secret or a "Public Trust" security clearance when she is President.

You're talking about it and so is every major news outlet.

Note-
Below Yo its me states:
Berger not only STOLE classified documents, he dumped them under a construction trailer outside the National Archives in College Park, MD for anyone to find.
Yet further on pet roch states:
Berger stole and destroyed the copies of these documents THAT CONTAINED HANWRITTEN NOTES OF WHAT WAS SAID AND BY WHOM. This would have eradicated Billybob's deniability and had these copies not been destroyed, Billybob would probably be on trial for treason.
Which is it cons?

The think a lot of these loopy Clinton defenders like Burt conveniently forget to mention is that Berger stole and destroyed the copies of these documents THAT CONTAINED HANWRITTEN NOTES OF WHAT WAS SAID AND BY WHOM. This would have eradicated Billybob's deniability and had these copies not been destroyed, Billybob would probably be on trial for treason.

These Clinton supporters who just blindly excuse everything rotten that he did while ranting on and on about their made-up grievances agaisnt President Bush require some serious medication.

Hey Burt, your bestest buddy Berger agreed to take a polygraph as a part of HIS PLEA AGREEMENT. Why don't you ask him when he intends to keep his word on that, or was that just another run-of-the-mill Clintonista lie?

And this is different how with the Clintons in General? We want to trust Hillary? A known liar? Oh, I don't know how those billing records turned up in the White House in our private quarters two years after they were requested by the court.... Duh!

I have never figured out why people think the Clintons are so wonderful....

Asked whether Clinton has any qualms about having Berger as an unofficial adviser to her campaign, given his mishandling of sensitive, classified intelligence documents in 2003?

"He has no official role in my campaign. He's been a friend for more than 30 years. But he doesn't have any official role," Clinton said.

But he's an unofficial adviser, Susan asked?

"I have thousands of unofficial advisers," said Clinton, "and, you know, I appreciate all of that. But he has no official role in my campaign."

But who cares about that? Cheney's number One Man "Scooter" Libby, was convicted of lying and obstructing a leak investigation that reached into the highest levels of the Bush administration.

Libby is the highest-ranking White House official to be convicted of a felony since the Iran-Contra scandal of the mid-1980s. The case brought new attention to the Bush administration's much-criticized handling of weapons of mass destruction intelligence in the run-up to the Iraq war.

The verdict culminated a nearly four-year investigation into how CIA official Valerie Plame's name was leaked to reporters in 2003. The trial revealed that top members of the administration were eager to discredit Plame's husband, former Ambassador Joseph Wilson, who accused the administration of doctoring prewar intelligence on Iraq.

So who cares about Sandy Berger?

Somebody MUST be talking about it in the News, or you wouldn't know anything about it, would you?

Kinda invalidates the question, don't you think?

However....

Sandy Berger was tried and acquitted of stealing "classified material" (which amounted to copies of attack plans, in case we ever go to war with Upper Volta), he was concealing nothing, as it was revealed in court these exact same plans and files were readily available in several other locations. So his "stealing them to suppress what was in them" is a total fallacy.

And another point (why are Republicans always so inaccurate when they repeat anything in YA), Mr Berger is not "working" for Ms Clinton, she has not hired him in any way, shape or form. He is, at most, giving her unofficial campaign advice, and after the shameful tenure of Bush's campaign advisor Karl Rove, I wouldn't be so eager to start collecting rocks to throw, if I were you.

And I would trust Sandy Berger a lot more with our security than someone in Yahoo Answers who cannot even supply a source for his rant, who gets every salient fact of the story WRONG and who clearly has more of a rightwing agenda than even Fox Noise has.

You always know when Republicans know that their policies are failures, bring up old news, exagerate a bit, or just make things up.

Minor punishment for a minor crime. Kind of disproves your characterization of it.

No one is trusting Sandy Berger with our security. He is just giving some advice to Hillary Clinton.

I think I would rather trust the Clintons and Sandy Berger than Bush and Rumsfield, and Ashcroft. At least Bill Clinton didn't screw up so badly as to get 3000 Americans civilians killed.

Agreed. It got minor media time and like each Clinton move... it's removed. With powerful friends they remain teflon. But it may be about time as the dirty Chinese laundry comes out to air. Thanks. Keep up the fight.

edit: They have a burial plot right next to Vince Foster for him.
(personal views considering sad facts & humor)
He worked with Hillary during the Rose Law firm days. When suspicious billing records were questioned he circled in read those entries. Well... the records were later found in the residence of Mrs. Clinton. He later worked within the Clinton Administration. Later was found shot in the back of the head. Suicide, it was ruled. What's the saying ? Keep your enemies closer?

Add: And for his crimes of Perjury & Obstruction of Justice Clinton inked a deal with prosecutors. It included a 6 yr suspension of the Arkansas Law License (still holds title Dis-barred) if he agreed to the end of the 7 year investigation into Whitewater that had plagued his administration. NOW BT Wiki that whitewater_(controversy) and Clinton law license. He has yet to renew it in ARK or NY. As the could have after 2006. Slick deal.

Because the revelations about Rudy's advisers are keeping them busy. There are only so many hours in the day.
