i know you say you are born that way, but what makes it so, what make up inside your body makes you attracted to the same sex instead of the opposite sex, i am in no way saying being gay is wrong, i ask becuase the original make up of our bodies for sex was to of course have babies, but gays cant do this, so what is it about the make up inside the body of a gay person that makes you just attracted to the same sex, please dont rant about other ways to have babies nowadays, because if you put 2 lesbians on an island or 2 gay men on an island they cant have children, thanks again

so the last 400 times you've asked this question wasn't enough for you?... I would be curious to know what "answer" you're still trolling for that you haven't already received... since you clearly aren't seeking truth or knowledge... what ARE you seeking...a chance to let all the other trolls get reported and blocked for the 600th time like Tara J?...she can't seem to get past 100pts on here without having to come up with a new account... so clearly her views are unwanted and NOT representative of anyone but herself... Why don't YOU two go get an island somewhere... you could make LOTS of babies...

I think finding someone of the same sex attractive enough to consider as a viable sexual mate makes someone gay. That said, I think that there is an entire spectrum of homo/heterosexual tendencies. Some people find the same sex so appealing that they wouldn't even consider someone form the opposite sex as a partner. Others find both males and females equally attractive. Some find the same sex only attractive enough to experiment once or twice. Some find people of the same sex unappealing all together.

Where the defintion lies, between the two, I'm not certain.

If by what makes a person gay you were meant what causes a person to be gay, I have no idea. What causes a person to straight for that matter. We are wired the way we are wired. I tend to think that nature knows best. If nature believes the human society is stronger and healthier with homosexuality as a part of it, who am I to argue.

There are a HUGE number of factors that are known to contribute towards this, both nature and nurture. A chemical imbalance in the mother during pregnancy, inherited genetic factors, and early life experiences are the ones that have been most readily identified.

Unfortuantely, for most gays it isn't really a preference, and the way our mind accumulates experience it really can't be changed after the fact, any more than a heterosexual male can be turned "gay".

The problem is that sexual dimorphism isn't completely set by genetics, and even the genetic part doesn't always make us 100% male or 100% female. Our endocrine mix during puberty actually does most of the work. If a guy takes birth control pills, for instance, they can grow breasts. Eating plant estrogens can drastically lower their sperm count.

Calling it "natural human tendency towards sin" is also a misnomer. Sin is a religious concept and our biologies aren't effected by religion as much as religions want us to think they are.

I think that a person chooses to become gay or lesbian on their own. Because I had a sister who was strate and decided to go lesbian, out of her own will. Some people claim that they were raped. So what then? does that mean they enjoyed being raped ?Is that why they continued with their little sheered? I think if I would have been raped and had been put through such a horrible ordeal I personally would try to block it out of my mind, but not continue to enjoy what was once done to me ,"called rape" I wouldn't call it rape if I enjoy the same sex now! So my answer is no. No one is born gay or lesbian. You choose that type of lifestyle! That's my opinion, and I don't hate gays or lesbians.

I hope you are intelligent enough to come to your own answer and be at peace with it. God and religion have very little, if anything to do with this subject and I hope you don't let this influence your understanding. GOD doesn't judge, but seems like some so-called christians do. They should be ashamed of themselves for simply hiding their hate behind religion. I guess it's easier for them to continue fooling themselves that they are somehow good, kind, non-judgemental people...all of which is not the case. Good luck to you and hope I helped in your endeavor to know truth...but also to see an agenda when it rears it's ugly head. D'n'D

I believe that we humans are gifted with something that differentiate us from any other being, it is called the mind. this mind is supposed to guide and help us fight against our twisted self desires, if every one followed his desires mindlessly you won't ask why there are gays cause you will see people doing the most weird things that you can imagine. I believe that we should use our minds in something better than to find excuses to our self behavior.

nature vs. nurture is crap

Personally I don't believe that we are necessarily born whit our sexuality, and I think that the reason the Gay community latches on to that particular explanation because people pick on them

But either way it should not matter what consenting adults do when they are at home WHO CARES

ok well sorry for the rant

I am not gay but all these people picking on people because of who they like to have sex with is just plain MEAN, and stupid what dose it have to do with you anyway

Probably the same reason that MAKES someone straight.
Or probably guys who date chicks like Tara J. That would make any dude gay. Peace Out!

Forget about the physical aspect for a moment....Perhaps there's a meeting of the minds/a connection..I know that's how lots of gay women are.
Also, you cannot explain how someone else feels, or what they are attracted to...they just ARE!

Just like you may know how you are straight and like women, gay people inherently know what they like as well!

I heard a theory that some animals become homosexual in high population environments, to prevent further overpopulation.

Comparing this to humans is not beyond the realms of reason IMHO. This would mean that the potential exists within everyone to be homosexual, but it was a result of the pressures of environment.
