just have to comment on BERT's response as well.
way to do your homework, champ. way to have NO clue what the reference to the "Duke 88" is even to. i LOVE the way you jump to assumptions, about Rush and all, and challenge the "88" on thier validity, without even knowing what the question was referring to.
JUNGLEJOE, Brilliant. :) excellent trap. looks as if BERT leads the way among mindless Dem-lemmings...
finally, BERT, don't you find it ironic calling those who dont buy AGW "Anti-Gore flat earthers", when your side is representing the "Falt earth" view by preaching "Scientific COncensus"? don't forget- "Scientific Consensus" (Such as what the PICC would like to claim) was that the Earth was flat, up until about 500 years ago.
ah, the rich irony that comes from the mindless lib left. :)

The difference is the global warming scientists gave their opinion on a matter that was within their expertise and area of study.
The 88 Duke professors gave their political opinion on a current incident.
Edit: I've looked up what the Duke profs said, and it was not a condemnation of the lacrosse players, it was a comment on the brouhaha and social disorder on campus.

Less than half of REAL scientists actually believe in global warming. And you never hear about the ones who do not and actually show proof it is not man made and everything about global warming is just made up.
"CNN Meteorologist Rob Marciano clapped his hands and exclaimed, "Finally," in response to a report that a British judge might ban the movie "An Inconvenient Truth" from UK schools because, according to "American Morning," "it is politically biased and contains scientific inaccuracies."
"There are definitely some inaccuracies," Marciano added. "The biggest thing I have a problem with is this implication that Katrina was caused by global warming.""

last week in boston - high 70's low 80's - for the 3rd week of october - it was part of a four day trend - not a one day fluke.
if that strikes you as normal, then go with your beliefs.
but i love the way cons are all too happy to invade iraq and kill people all on things that 'might' have been true, but we now know weren't.
why don't they view global warming in the same way?
corporate contracts and short term money...
i once read a story where the writer defined an ****** as a person who refuses to believe what he/she sees...

While you're waiting for your lunatic fringe answers, you can put away your winter coats and get out your summer t-shirts. In North America and Europe—where the science is strongest—the highest density of indicators are exhibited, and scientists have made great efforts in recent years to document the early impacts of global warming on other continents. Although factors other than climate may have intensified the severity of some events, scientists predict such problems will increase if emissions of heat-trapping gases are not brought under control.
But you go right ahead and listen to FOX/GOP-TV to get the latest news that Global Warming is an al queda plot (LOL).

So you're saying you DON'T believe in majority rule? That 88 are more correct than 2,000? Should we invalidate the ENTIRE democratic process, or just "suspend" it for science? Can we finally tell Bush not even anti-Gore Flat Earthers think his Presidency is legitimate, due to the fallacy of "majority rule"?
And are all these 88 Duke professors climatologists? Atmosphere Analysts? Experts in the fields of Climate and Global change? Or (more likely) has Limbaugh been polling the Home Ec and Underwater Basket Weaving professors, for THEIR expert opinions on climate?

Whose diveying up the money for the big, lucrative research grants so the scientists can pay themselves like god to live it up and rub elbows with the likes of Al Gore, the Clintons, and John "the ambulance chaser" Edwards?

Because Duke Professors know nohthing about law, as opposed to scientists who have spent their whole lives studying the atmosphere. Do you think you could make a little bit weaker of an analogy?
