He doesn't sound like a very good teacher if he won't help you out. Since you finished the test it wouldn't hurt for him to do so. Poor housing was important to give those people a place to live so they wouldn't be on the streets. It is usually set up by income.

If you mean poor housing then read George Orwell road to wigan pier as that is much better description of the state of housing for the lower classes and desolate than I can describe. The first half also has a bit of analysis and I think from the top of my head then when families were offered improved housing they didn't like it much as they KNEW only what they had been brought up in and therefore resented being moved on with the slum clearances. If the question is referring to Poor House for those who were desolate then they were intended basically to keep the poor from being desolate as they were harsh and supposedly it was a deterrent. While they were there they had hard labor and barely enough nutrition to keep alive. Families were split and husbands and wives. Think sort of Oliver Twist at the beginning when he asks for some more gruel! Honestly if you are talking about pre WW2 era go down to the library and get Road to Wigan pier. Then go to your teacher after reading it and then ask him again so you can discuss the overview! I think most teachers won't deny you that if they think you are making a real effort. Good luck

im not sure of the question either
poor housing - meaning housing which is in need of repairs
or
poor housing - a system of providing cheap housing for the poor?
I cant see any benefits to living in a place that needs repairs, it would be unhealthy, possible unheated and may not have running water
a system of housing for the poor I can see where that would benefit a comunity as in England before cheap housing was provided if you were not able to provide for yourself by working or were old or sick then many got sent to the workhouse where automatically you lost your right to vote
I cant do the whole lot for you and I dont know if I'm on the right track. Zero is very harsh unless you forgot to put your name on the paper..I did know teachers back in England that would give a zero mark for that.

Hye, I m french and dont study history but ...

Sure enough , you gave a personnal feelings on the question and didnt conclude from historical facts.

The date of 1945 is significant and shows by the 0 you had been given that you may be revisionnistic or radical in your posistions.

We can't answer you if we don't know what you said, so, I concur with those who are requesting you provide us with the question and your answer.
If your teacher told you he won't answer you - he either is a lousy teacher or he feels that you don't deserve an answer for reasons you should already know.

What were your answers?

FIRST OF ALL YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE THE QUESTION!
(saying something like) shows it.
that might be why you sound confused.
read carefully, and you might do better.
cuz if you are just doing standard, what do you expect, either you do better or worse.
it was your test. !you write your answer! and you might get input as to why you made a 0.

Sounds more like why was the Poorhouse important? The poor starved without them.

Your history teacher is not doing their job if you're getting a zero and they're not explaining why.

Well, you need to post the specific question, or you might get an answer that is "something like" right.

What did you write?

It is hard to answer your question because we don't know the contents of your test.

Could it be that he may have taken it personal?
