Since 1993, 3 of the 4 expansion teams have made the Fall Classic. Is the Rays' time coming soon? I thought they had their chance with Lou Pinella.

The Rays problem is that they are in a division with the Yankees and Red Sox while the others aren't. Until baseball comes to it's senses and installs a salary cap, the Rays won't make it. Unfortunately, since the AL (and NL) has divisions and teams like Oakland, Cleveland, and Texas don't have to play the Yanks and Red Sox 18 times a season like the Devil Rays do not much will change. MLB should remove all divisions and force these teams to play the Yankees and Red Sox an equal number of time. They will soon get tired of getting whipped by team with 3 times the money to spend on talent and something will change. But until then, it looks bad. BTW, I'm a Blue Jay fan so my team is in the same boat.

In the AL east their chances aren't very good. Even the Blue Jay were decent this year. The D-rays finished stronger than expected but the bullpen is horrid. They do have some very good player but how long can they keep them.

Plus their salary is lowest in baseball. I can see the Yankees stealing a few.

They will not play in a World Series until the team is sold to someone willing to spend money or they join the National League.

How about $100 million added to payroll for free agents, get a good manager, trade for more power (or move out of Tampa) and go to Portland Oregon--(Tropicana field is for oranges-not baseball teams)-Ya need new owners, dude or new management to kick some butt!!

well, Kazmir is their stud.... they need to work around him

Shields had a decent year also...

if they are going to trade Crawford, they better get something good in return...

Baldelli was supposed to be another stud, but injuries have plagued his carrer so far.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, they are in the same division as the Red Sox & Yankees (and believe it or not, the Blue Jays are improving) which means they have to play those teams the most.

i agree with you i thought that really had a chance with Lou
its going to be very difficult for them in the same division with new york and boston, if they stay in tampa i am sure someday they will win it, but it won't be for a long time
