should i just take it out, or should I C: Format it? Thanks for the help.

The only way to destroy it, would be physically break it. Drill holes into it. Or what I do is take the hard drive apart and destroy the individual hard drive platters. As an added bonus you can salvage the magnets that are inside the drive, these are really strong, and fun to play with or use as refrigerator magnets.

First, I would try to make startup discs from another computer and see if the OS can be installed over the win 3.1.
Or, I would try to find and download an OS from morpheus, etc to overwrite.

Captain Destructo! I took ours to the garage, placed in the vise, grabbed a sledge hammer and a pair of pliers, and had at it until it was in small pieces. Great fun! (Get a rug or a tarp...)

Then we disposed of the pieces in several locations around town.
