They only used to be named after women, that was because they're wet and windy when they come and take half the f%&*ing house when they go.

They start at "A" in a season, then "B", alternating gender with each storm, in the possible event that the aphabet is exhausted before the season is out, the the Greek letter Alpha is used. If the Greek alphabet is also exhausted, that would have been an impressive hurricane season!

There's an alphabetical list of names alternating between masculine and feminine names. If by chance we run through all the names (they don't use Q, X, and Z) then they name them with Greek letters (alpha, beta, etc.)
