I don't like them, but they're arguably the best team in baseball. They tied for the best record in all of MLB, and they're in the World Series.
To me, that makes them pretty special.

Because I live in New England, grew up in a family of Red Sox fans, and you just can't beat the personality those guys have, individually and as a team. I'll root for them when they're down 10-0, cause' they're the Sox and I'll never give up on them. And if you don't think they're anything special, you must not be much of a baseball fan, because there is something to be said for making it to the World Series.

people started liking the Red Sox either because their from New England and almost everyone roots for their home team because they think their special ...its human nature ...just as one would take pride in their High School or college team..people also thought the Red Sox where special because they used to be the underdog the poor team they hadn't won a world series in so many years but came so close....now that they have won a world series(one) I see people calling Red sox fans obnoxious that's probably jealousy who knows but anything you have watched and taken pride in for any amount of time should be special....

I just want to ask about the skill without the big name players? David Ortiz, Manny, Josh Beckett? Matuzaka, These people aren't big name players? The red sox have the second highest payroll in MLB. I think people like them because they are one of the older teams, they are playing at Fenway, the green monster is a famous field.

I like the Sox because ....well i honestly don't know why I do. One day the game was on, I watched it. Ever since then...I have been watching them. It's wierd because I can't watch any other game, only the sox!!!

I love them because I grew up watching them. I love all the passion this team's fans have. The rivalry with the Yankees is a reason for a lot of people to watch baseball.
I'd say their special if they won a world series.

I started liking them because of my boyfriend. But now i know so much about them, they are the only team in baseball where I could name all the players! They are really great! HOw can you not like them?!?

Because I liked them even when they sucked. It's called being a real home team fan. Root for them when their good and stick by them when everyone else doesn't. Sure the bandwagon is filling up fast but that's sports for ya.
