I was induced because my water broke, yet I was having no contractions. You're always told that the first stage of labor can take 24 hours or more, so I figured when my water broke that my contractions were bound to start. Well, they didn't. So 24 hours after my water broke, I called the maternity ward at the hospital I was going to be going to, told them what was up, and they told me to come straight in. They verified that my water had broke, admitted me, put me on penicillin and pitocin (I'd been dilating for the month and a half before), and seven hours and an epidural later, my daughter was born.
If you are induced, opt for the epidural. What you will be feeling will be ten times worse that what you would feel for natural labor.

Yes I was induced cuz of high blood pressure and I lived over 100 miles away. My due date was 8-23-02 and I was induced on 8-5-02. My son got jaundice one week later. My doc said it was cuz he was early. So now with this baby, I'm going to do anything everything I can to make sure I stay healthy cuz it was not fun. I checked in the hospital at 4:30 am and they gave me a pill at 5:30 to start labor. I had no pain until my bag of waters was popped at 7:30 am and then the pain began. Contractions every 30 seconds. oh man it was not fun. I asked for an epidural and got it at 9:oo am. My son was born at 3:55 p.m after 3 and half hours of pushing. This kid is going to be born the normal way meaning natural labor

Yes. And while I do not regret it, if I had to do it over again, I would have chosen not to get induced. I was on my due date and I went in to see my OB for standard check up. She walked in and said, "Lets induce." I was a first time mom and I was so tired of being pregnant and I wanted to see my baby. So, I went for it, no real reason to need to be induced. Had my daughter by noon the next day.
If I have another child, I do not plan on being induced. I wanted a natural birth... but, it didn't go that way.

I was induced for my second pregnancy 3 weeks early. My blood pressure would not come back down and I was starting to get sick. They decided it was safer to take the baby then to let me stay pregnant.
My first pregnancy I wasn't induced and I had my daughter one month early, but labor was only 3 hours 19 minutes...induced labor was about 17 hours, but since I was already in the hospital, they gave me an ITN once I was uncomfortable. Besides how long it took, it was a very pleasent experience.

Yes. I was induced with my second baby. My first was a c-section, and I was having a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) for my second. My doctor didn't want to chance the baby getting too big, plus he was going on Christmas vacation and wanted to make sure he was there with me in case of complications. I was due Jan. 3 and was induced Dec. 22. She was completely healthy, but weighed only 5lbs 14oz. Not something I would do again, unless for an emergency reason.

Yes I was. I was on bed rest for over a month before I was induced. I was retaining water super bad and had 3-4x the amount of amniotic fluid I should have. If my water would have broke my sons umbilical chord could have killed him by coming out with the water. My Dr. had to control the flow of the water when he broke it...we thought we were going to flood the hospital I had so much water...LOL!
P.S. I had an amnio before my induction to make sure my sons lungs were developed. He was between 4 and 6 weeks early, 7 pounds and perfectly healthy.
Good luck!!

Yes, with both of my boys. I was induced because I was in labor for 2 weeks with my first and couldn't get past 3cm dilated. I was in labor with him after being induced for 18 hours and 4 min.! With my second, I again was having very bad contractions for about a week and couldn't get past 3cm dilated. I was in labor with him for 9 hours and 45 min. after being induced!

Yes, my blood pressure was going up and I was retaining lots of water. My doctor wanted to make sure I wasn't pre-hyclampsic.
I was in labor for about 28 hours, pushed for 3, then had a c-section. My little guy was turned the wrong way (face up instead of down) and he was huge (9 pounds 11 ounces)!
