There are in my opinion two definitions. One definition is how it as been used as late in popular political forums (such as YA) and another is the actual dictionary definition.
1) The popular definition- A retaliatory slur against liberalism in response to the term "neo-con".
2) The approximate dictionary definition- A person that believes that the economy should have minimal interference from the government so as to produce increased liberty.

The modern Democratic party differs from a generation ago chiefly in its policy on defense and national security. Joe Lieberman is one of the few remaining in the Truman JFK Scoop Jackson mold.
Their attitudes towards abortion and same-sex marriage seem to place it at odds with much of the old working class base as well. And race politics send the message that whites have something to be ashamed of or to pay back. Working class people - many of whose ancestors were not even here until well after the Civil War - are tired of the put-downs and claims on their income.
A perceived hostility and disdain for national pride and religion would be a hallmark. As would a sneering contempt for traditions, such as the family, that many Americans hold dear.
PS Fifty years ago, it was the Republicans who were elitists and turning up their noses at the masses. Now the shoe is on the other foot. Look at all the "Red-State" bashing on this site. If the Democrats don't want "NASCAR fan" votes, they have certainly ensured that they will not get them!

Love and affection are between the main crucial recommendations of being actual human...actual love demands the making of sacrifices, giving issues up for those one loves. that's mentioned that unconditional love in people is definitely achieveable, considering the fact that we've been given the innate skill to love...although love does not consistently instruct itself in the international as that's hidden via different violent forces, that's ever latest and able to be cultivated if in straightforward terms people take sufficient time and activity to accomplish that.

Well, if a neocon is really a closeted liberal, then by that definition a neoliberal must be a closeted conservative.

to my knowledge there is no such thing. someone thought "neoliberal" would be a witty comeback to someone using the term "neocon" or "neoconservative", which is an actual designation by some conservatives that they give themselves.

Same as the old Liberals. The prefix neo means "new", it does not have any negative connotation in and of itself, it's the "Liberal" part of the term that is the offensive and a rose by any other name...well you know.

I'm fairly certain a "NEOLIBERAL" is a "30 year old white male upper middle class social liberal fiscal conservative."
