I agree with people on here saying you should start out with wedges. I love wedges. They're adorable, still make your legs look hot, and still give you that feminine walk. As far as walking in heels, just remember to walk like 'heel, toe, heel, toe'. Some women make the mistake of walking on their toes first because their feet are already in a tippy-toe-like state. Don't do that! It sounds stupid and you might feel silly, but practice walking in heels or wedges in your house. Trust me, you'll get used to the feeling of walking in heels.

The only thing, in my experience, that will make you comfortable in heels is practice. Even small heels will hurt your feet. Try wearing them for a couple of hours every day, and build up to all day.
As far as walking (this is my favorite part of wearing heels), it really puts a cute swing in your hips and also makes you look several pounds thinner. I would say practice walking around your house in them. Make sure you try them on carpet, hardwood, tile, etc. DO NOT walk through the grass in your heels. They will sink and you will look really silly. (I know that never happens in movies, but it does in real life.)

Personally i dont think kitten heels particulally suit anyone larger than a size 8 bcoz they tend to make legs look fatter than they are.

plus size or not, they hurt lol. im 5'1 and 115 and they hurt me. i find that the more expensive heals (crappy but true) are much more comfortable. i can stand all day in my coach heels but my cheaper ones from macys no way. try a wedge they are much easier on the feet.

why dont you try stacked heels.....also known as wedges. I am very petite but still find heels uncomfortable so i prefer stacked heels. even my thigh high boots from aldo are stacked (wedges)....hope that helps
