I have no idea. I have to write a whole paper on it, and i still need to read it. If you could tell me who you beleive is most responsible for the hysteria and why, so i can read the crucible and have your reasons in mind. Thank you.

I would say Abigail William's based on her manipulative behavior, but I would also have to blame the courts/church for believing such nonsense and punishing people for these acts just adds fuel to the fire.

I definitely think Arthur Miller was most responsible. My reason is this: he wrote the book, so everything that happened in it came straight out of that guy's head.
