I've been on brith control for a few months now, and since Ive started the pill my periods have gotten much lighter. This month though I'm already onto my 3rd sugar pill, with no signs of my period yet. Do people sometimes skip periods when on the pill, or do I have a good reason to be worried?

if you have only been on the pill for a few monthes then your body has not fully ajusted to the new hormones in your body. I have been on the pill for over a year now, and my sugar pills start on sunday and I usually do not start until wednesday. and it is normal for your period to be lighter and sometimes shorter. but it is not usual to skip your period on the pill, i would consult your doctor if you've skipped more then one period. it helps to take your pill at the same time everyday, like every morning while you put your make up on or something. i do know that it takes at least 2 monthes for the birth control to start working. but as for being a few days on your sugar pills w/o a period, is normal, it takes your body awhile to realize that the actual pill has stopped and sugar pill began.

Don't worry, you don't have to get it on the very first sugar pill.

With me, I get my period around the 3rd, 4th, or even 5th sugar pill.
