It is not OK to spank your children. Think about what it would be like for you if someone 10 times your size who you thought loved you hit you. There are many other ways to deal with childrens behaviour but they require intelligene and patience, if you do not have these qualities perhaps you should leave disipline to your wife. Actually how would you like it if it was considered OK for her to take a belt you when you misbehaved. Violence is never the answer, maybe your family could benefit from some counselling.

Well lets start here it not right to spank your children nor is it right to think its ok to spank your wife.Have you heard of spousal abuse and child abuse if not look it up.It is wrong to think this way and people like you should be banished back to the dark ages where that was the norm.Thankgod for progress well some of us have progressed.Paul t was right crawl back under your rock and for god sake keep your narrow minded thought to yourself.Just when you hit your kids next time think this they will get older and when they do it might be them handing out the spankings what go around comes around.Thank god my husband is a man not a mouse that needs to beat on ladies and children.

Many don't believe that it is OK to "spank" your kids.
I believe that there is a difference between "spankings" and
then BEATINGS or ABUSE. Spanking children for the purposes of discipline and training is OK for me.
However, your wife is an adult ... and you should have made
sure BEFORE you married and had children with her that
she had been disciplined and trained by HER parents when
she WAS a CHILD.
Now if you think that it is OK to spank your wife .... would that
be because she was "disobedient?" ... Then would it ALSO
be OK for her to spank YOU! (I am sure that you leave your
underwear on the floor .... Or forget to put the toilet seat down!)
And if you can spank your wife .... Does YOUR boss get to
spank you???
I am hoping that you are joking! But if you are not ... then that
means you are looking for a way to legitimize the abuse or
the disrespect of your wife. Why would a grown man want
to humiliate a grown woman .... the mother of his children???

Your wife is not a child, she is an adult like you like it or not. The reason you spank a child is to discipline it. If you have a problem with your wife you need to communicate to her about your dislikes and come to an agreement with her.
By law if you spank your wife it is considered as assault and you can get charged that is if she was to call the police on you.

you married your wife. She promised to "love, honour, and obey" you AND you promised to "love, honour, and CHERISH" her.
Your children? Because you are to train them up in the way they should go. Training, mostly, is by word (teaching) and example (showing). Training can also involve the occasional punishment ... or promise of punishment if "earned".
Your wife should already have been brought up by her parents. You and your wife should, TOGETHER, grow in the ways you should go.

You are responsible for your children's moral development and have legal authority over them...but your wife is your equal, and you have very little legal authority over her.
