I'm sick of people saying our season was a failure. We made the playoffs. That's success enough right? Sure the ending was sad but still we made the playoffs. Good enough for me. I'm a lifelong Yankees fan.

You are right. Everyone counted them out and they almost came back to win the division. It was an exciting ending to the regular season. 5 game series are always tough. Sometimes a team gets hot and just like that your out of it. Like I said going in to that series that Indians needed to shut down the Yankee hitter and they did.

As a 2nd generation Yankees fan I definitely think they had a good year. Unfortunately, we in New York expect nothing but the best and when we don't win the WS we deem it as less than stellar year. Also, that incredible run we had w/ the 4 Championships, well, that's made us spoiled. Others teams would be content w/ the consecutive playoff appearances or the Division titles. For the Yankee fan, we are okay w/ these accomplishments but we want it ALL! We just expect to win, which is a great thing!

I think that as Yankees fan we make such a big deal about not winning it all to motivate the team to better themselves for next year.

Considering the Yankees were at one time 14 1/2 games out & to win wild card spot & to have shot a division at the end of the season I think they had a great season. Fans of a certain team said they wouldn't win division or wild card spot, am I correct Georgie?

I agree i want a ws at the end , but I was actually happy just making the Playoffs because all the Pitching problem they went trough in the beginning being o ver 14 games behind the Red Sox and being called dead in freaking May , they Came back but fell short but i was glad they amid it and I'm happy because we have a bright future ahead with Hughes, Kennedy and Chamberlain

Of course they did and don't let anyone try and tell you different.

The Yankees ended up with the second best record in the majors. I don't know of that many teams that could pull that off after being 17 games out first place at one point of the season.

yes you guys did make the playoffs i cant take that away from you....but the 2st 1/2 of the season sucked!!! no pitching, the only reason you guys made it to the playoffs was because your offense was unbeatable. it was very rare the yankees did not score under 5 runs. thats the only reason you won. the only reliable pitchers you have are wang and pettite.

As a sox fan I'll give it to ya. You had a decent season. A-Rod helped you out alot. I thought you would have passed us in the end. The pitching is what killed the Yankees though you have to admit that.

There are 3 kinds of teams.
1. it would be nice if we could win.
2. Well, maybe we can win.
3. What's this "maybe" stuff?

The Yankees are definately a ## 3 team.
