The tips on the game aren't very helpful. I want to maximize my playing experience, so can you please help me? And if you happen to have any other tips as well.

i think you can do that with this cheat code:
when in neighborhood view, press CTRL+Shift+C and type:
"boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true" (without the quotations). this will enable you to move the needs bars up, or down, and you can also move the skills, interests, relationships....up too. you only have to do this in neighborhood view because you have to go to another lot once you turn it on to activate it. also, (to answer your question) you can press and hold Shift and click on the active sim. this will open up new options. i think one of them is "make sim a vampire". but i'm not sure about the other ones, sorry. but you can try it and check.

um werewolf i have no idea...
uh plantsim?(need ts2 seasons) i think your sim has to be a gardener spaz like love to garden...they might have to be really good at it too though.
vampire: (need nightlife) ok lets see if i can remember...type in the boolProp cheat exactly like this: boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true
then create the sim. when the sim is in a lot, hold down the shift button while you click the sim. this will bring up the choice thingie...um somewhere in those choices i think it says make vampire or something (explore a bit, you should find it) then poof you sim is a vampire. uh keep in mind: vampires sleep in coffins only, they sizzle in the sun (no windows! i think..)
or for vampire you could do it the old school way and build up a relationship with one of the vampires already in the game and get bitten..

to become a werewolf, you have to befriend one that stops by and you will eventually be bitten if he likes you. The same thing goes for a vampire. You can find them downtown alot. A plantsim is created when you use alot of bug spray on fruit trees. So plant about 1/2 dozen and go to town. Hope this helps.
