In my house, ice cream is never left sitting out long enough to melt. However should there be a lapse in judgement somewhere, I'd either put it in the freezer, or eat it before it is a warm soupy mess..

Get a glass, let it melt into the glass. Take some cookie dough and butterfinger bites and throw them in. Mix it all up and you have yourself a cookie dough, butterfinger shake...yummy.

Ooh, I would take the really melty part and throw it in the blender with some ice and some rum and coconut milk if it was chocolate or vanilla, and have a mixed drink for my husband and I and the firmer part I would scoop into sugar cones or between cookies for my sons.
If it was strawberry, I'd throw the melty part in the blender with ice and rum and frozen strawberries or fruit punch and have mixed drinks for my husband and I and the firmer part I would scoop into bowls or sugar cones for my sons.

Push it all it at once and get brain freeze. If it's chocolate with mint chip it's sooo worth it.
