i really need to take this exhaust off, but there is 1 bolt and thats it! i have tried to use pliers but it has been put on too tight and the more i try the more it is losing its shape! it is nearly gone(shape)! there is not enough space for a ratchet to go on there so any ideas please it is really important? also it is the type of nut that has a circle base on it.

Yes , the problem is you shouldved loosened the motor mounts and jacked up the engine in the first place. That bolt you wouldve never gotten out with a pair of plyers it was torqued down. Now you have 2 choices , jack the engine up and get a bit reverse drill bit , its made to drill into the top of the bolt and then lock into it and reverse it out. I think ace hardware has them. Or you can jack the engine up and get a tap and die kit , which can be a pain in the ***.

You made a little problem into a bigger one, it happens a lot in mechanics.

The heat from an exhaust manifold will stick them every time. If WD40 doesn't work try a bit of Crisco after letting the car heat up so it melts it into the stud and nut. Since many of these are both stud and nut you may try locking vise grips on the stud itself. And for the man that mentioned the Craftsman tools they work great!

Sears sells tools for removing distorted bolts or you may try a ratchet box wrench which only requires 9 degrees of space to work. The moral seems to be to use the proper tool for the job.
