I didn't get them on my stomach but i did get a few on my breasts and my inner thighs. Use cocoa butter everyone several times a day to avoid them. I made the mistake on only using it on my belly, thankfully it did work there.

It's all genetic.
I have 3 or 4 from my first pregnancy (on my stomach). Within a year after birth, you couldn't even see them (especially w/ a tan). I was induced @ 36 weeks due to preeclampsia and didn't start getting them until around 32 weeks. I have a feeling if I had been able to go to 40 weeks, I would have more.
This pregnancy... I've gained less weight at this point than last time and I've already started getting them. I can't tell if they are new ones or if the old ones are coming back. Either way, they are noticeable again.
I remember them starting to disappear very soon after birth though and kept fading more and more over time.

I am one of the ones to get stretch marks, however, I don't find myself feeling unfortunate for having them. They are my " battle scars " I have had 3 children, they all stayed below my belly button, and I never got any on my hips, back, legs or breasts. But with each child they got a little bigger on my lower belly. They became silvery pretty quickly, I would say within a few months. That was with my first, they remained slivery looking throughout my pregnancy with my other 2 children.

I got them only on the sides of my belly (which is where I gained all my weight). My friend got them on her belly, legs, breasts, everywhere. My daughter turned 2 in August and the marks faded a lot but are not silvery, they're pinkish-peach. When I first had my daughter though, they were bad. Really noticeable. Not so bad now.
My mom never got them though after having 3 kids. And she never used cocoa butter or anything. I guess some people are just more prone to them.

im nearly 37 weeks, and so far not a single stretch mark! But still a few weeks to go..and Ive heard some women even get them after they give birth! So not gonna get my hopes up quite yet! Been using bio oil twice a day so dont know if this has helped prevent them. Bio oil is also good for fading existing stretch marks and easing itching so you could try that? Good luck :)

I am 38 weeks pregnant with my first and have no stretch marks on my belly. My problem is that I've gained weight in my legs and butt and have gotten stretch marks there. Yuck! I hate them. I've been using Palmer's Cocoa Butter on my boobs, belly, and legs, but it doesn't seem to be helping much in the leg area. Please tell me the stretch marks I have will fade when I lose the weight because I wouldn't even be able to wear a swimsuit the way I look now!

I got them. :( I got them everywhere. I am one of the only people I know who got them. Not even my mom got them. With my second pregnancy I got them lower because I must have carried lower and I didn't get as many up higher. Now I am pregnant for the 3rd time. I wonder how many I will have by the time this one is over. :( :(
And to answer your other question, it takes about 5 months for them to turn silver but they still don't look very good.

Yes I also believe that everyone gets them just in different areas. I got some with my first pregnancy and I'm getting more with this one too. They are just not noticeable to all people but I know they are there. Use the Palmer lotion it helps.

Maderma scar creme gets stretch marks to the place they are somewhat extensive. I had broke my leg and used crutches. I even have noticeably super hands and used crutches for thus long that I stretched the exterior decrease than my hands leaving some stretch marks on the two sides. Maderma worked super. I have been given it at Walgreens yet I even have additionally seen it at Walmart. sturdy luck ;)

I got them with my 2nd. I was smart enough to use Palmer's on my belly the entire time with my first, but stopped for some reason with my 2nd. So, now I have em around my belly and on my thighs...I still use Palmers to hydrate and hopefully return the skin to some look of normalcy!
