There's nothing wrong with your question, so don't worry about that. Yes it's normal to get some big clots, they're just large amounts of blood basically. I'm sure you know that the uterus prepares itself for a baby each month, and if a woman doesn't become pregnant the lining of the womb is then expelled because it isn't needed.

Why wouldn't your question be ethical? This is what this site is for. I don't know exactly what causes the blood to clot, but I'm pretty sure that it's normal. I've had a period for 15 years now and I get blood clots.
I wouldn't worry about it too much if I were you, but go to the doctor if you are worried.

It is natural to have some clots, although they shouldn't be too large and if you fill a maxi pad in less than an hour you should be seeing a doctor. I have always had the clots, but I don't think all women do, it is kind of an individual thing, how long your period is, how much you bleed, how much you clot, etc. Good luck and God Bless.
P.S. You might want to ask this on Web md to see what they have to say.

Menstrual fluid is not just liquid. It is made up of blood and tissue from the uterine wall. Most clots that you see are actually larger pieces of the endometrium (the uterine lining). As long as your flow doesn't last longer than 10 days and you are not saturating a super pad or tampon within one hour, your flow is within normal range. If you feel uncomfortable with your menstrual flow, you should contact your doctor and let him/her know what is going on.(gaeneocologist)

Mostly normal as all others say here. But we don't know how large these clots are. So if you are really concerned then go to your Doctor and describe how big they are to the Doctor and the she/he will be able to answer your concerns.

Honey, I've got the same problem as you! Sometimes it hurts so bad while the clots pass that it makes me nauseous!!! My OB/GYN recommended that I take 2 aspirin every 4 hours during my menses -- to help the blood flow easier. It does help a little. Best wishes!

No, it's normal, you have to think that, that blood in your uterus, has been cushioning it in case a baby comes along. So it's been there for 28 days so to speak. Don't freak out, it's normal, woman have them all the time
Hope this helps :)

It is very normal. However if the bleeding become very heavy and the clots large like half dollar size do not hessitate to call your OBGYN. That amount can lead to anemia.
