No. Everyone would divide into the sheeple who hunker down and wait for someone else to deal with it; the opportunists who try to find some way to benefit from the outside threat; and the finger-pointers who try to blame everyone else for the outside threat, or for not handling the outside threat appropriately.

I believe that we would unite against a threat from the outside. Similiar to when there is fighting within a family but they unite against an outside threat.
