I donated some clothes to a consignment shop in the area and the lady at the store was really excited while she was looking through my clothes.

She said that my clothes will be a big hit this time of year with people looking for outfits for Halloween and she was going to display them in the store window.

Um - those were my regular everyday clothes, should I rethink some of my outfit choices? :)

My co-workers have never complained . :)

The lady was pretty ancient but I thought it was hilarous - apparently 4 1/2 inch heels are not for everyone. :)

She probably hasn't gotten out much. The diversity of today's society has risen to a level never before seen, and people could go outside wearing a Batman costume and would fit in. It doesn't matter how you dress, as long as you are confortable. Who gives a D*mn about some lady who works at a clothing shop? Wear what you want, and have fun in life.

That was NOT a nice thing for her to say. Don't ever change because of someone else. For your own reason, you like these clothes, so who cares what she thinks of them. Just be glad that you were able to donate the clothing. People will be people, you can't change that, so don't change yourself.

Maybe the woman was just uppity. Maybe you might want to ask around though, not just friends. You need to ask family and maybe some coworkers that you get along with. If not they will probably tell you that the way you dress is fine and then just talk about you behind your back.

Wow. She must have been temporarily brain dead when she said that. I'd be really insulted if it were me.

BUT on the other hand, she could also think the clothes are nice for things people are dressing up as - such as princesses, celebrities, etc. You never know.

Maybe she meant that people could use the fabric to make some nice costumes or help accessorize some costume ideas.
If you think you have a fashion problem, ask close friends and relatives about their opinions on your wardrobe.

You probaby have your own unique style. People you know probably don't 'complain' because they like you and the clothes represent you. In the end, it's best to dress for yourself and what makes you happy. Have fun :-)

I guess I would if someone thinks they look like Halloween. Are they black or gothic looking? I can think of no other reason. I think though the woman should have kept that thought to herself it was poor taste to say it to you.

No, if you like it and are comfortable wearing it then why should you change just bc a lady told you that. Who cares? Don't change your ways bc of her, everyones taste and likes are different.
