Letès keep our definitions straight here.
Hillbillies are Apalachian. "You got to be a billy goat to want to live in them hills." That's where the expression came from.
Rednecks are from the South where working outdoors in bright sunlight will give you sunburn on the back of you neck.
Hicks are everywhere else.
