Next to the Boston Red Sox the New York Yankees are second in my book. I have and will continue to cheer the Yankees on.
And I will watch the series no matter who is playing without picking a favorite.......it's not so stressful and you can sit back and enjoy the game without being afraid to go to the bathroom.

As a Red Sox fan, I would only root for the Yanks to win under one circumstance: if the team they were playing was a team we'd be battling for the Wild Card, and only late in the regular season.

All other times I only root for two teams: the Red Sox and whoever's playing the Yankees.

If the Yanks are in the Series, I lose a lot of interest and only half watch the games. The only Series I really watched closely with the Yankees in it, was the 2001 series against Arizona. Which, yes I liked the outcome but, it was probably one of the best series (competition-wise) in a long time.

If Yank fans are rooting for the Red Sox, then well, they're better people than I am.

I have to confess...I once said I always root American League even if its the Yankees but now that I think about it I always root American unless it's the Yankees (or if the Cubs ever made it to the Series)...remembering back, I was definitely rooting hard for the D-Backs in 2001 and I was happy when the Marlins won in 2003 (but honestly, can you blame me...the way the Sox lost in the ALCS that year I didn't want to the Yanks to win even a game in the Series)...I wouldn't say I am a Yankee Hater (hate is too harsh a word)...but I am definitely a Yankee strong disliker!

As a Yankee fan I am not rooting for the Red Sox. I'm not really rooting against them but I don't care if they win. Actually I haven't watched any baseball since the Yanks where given the boot.

I always believed that if someone’s favorite team didn’t get in the Series, the reaction would be to cheer for a team to beat up the team that beat yours! For example, Mets fans would’ve been cheering for Colorado to spank Philadelphia (which is exactly what happened!). Yanker fans would’ ve had a tougher choice: Cleveland or Boston!

I can’t say if a Yanker, er, Yankee fan would cheer for the Red Sox, but I know for certain that a Red Sox fan would NEVER cheer for the Yankees! Not in a million years!

The only time I rooted for the Yankees in the World Series was in 2001. I think the whole country was rooting for the that year. Other than that, I don't think I rooted for them but, it has been such a long time that I don't really remember..lol...
